Expected to generate sales of 35 million dollars in 2015

ITR opens a new plant specialising in aeronautic tube manufacture which will employ 200 workers

The Governor of Querétaro, José Calzada, and the CEO of Industria de Turbo Propulsores, S. A., Ignacio Mataix, today opened a new aeronautic tube manufacturing plant at Turborreactores, S.A. de C.V. (ITR).

As of today, ITR, an ITP affiliate based in the Mexican state of Querétaro, has a new 2000-square metre building specialising in the manufacture of the rigid metal tubes (made of titanium, steel, nickel alloys and aluminium). These are used in systems for the hydraulic control, fuel supply, refrigeration and lubrication of Airbus A380 and A320 aircraft along with the Boeing 787 and Bombardier Challenger 300, among others.

Speaking at the opening, ITP CEO, Ignacio Mataix said "the objective behind these new facilities, which are the result of a 10-million dollar investment, is to boost the production capacity of the aerospace tube area. We want to go from 2010 figures of 50,000 units and 6 million dollars in sales to 220,000 tubes and 35 million in 2015 with a staff of 200 employees".

The new building will house several different production processes, such as welding (orbital, manual and brazing), chemical treatments, non-destructive testing (x-ray and penetrant liquids) and others, all of which are certified by NADCAP.
