Seventh ITP Group Centre to receive Accreditation

ITP-Albacete awarded ISO 14001 Certification for its Environmental Management System

The ITP Centre at Albacete has been awarded AENOR certification for its Environmental Management System under International Standard ISO 14001. This makes it the fourth ITP Centre and the seventh from the Group as a whole to obtain this certificate, alongside those in Zamudio, Ajalvir, San Fernando, PCB and the ITP UK facilities in Lincoln and Whetstone.

The certification is a reward for the major efforts that have been put in at ITP Albacete, especially bearing in mind its profile. The centre has a staff of 39 workers and operates as an independent plant. As such, it has complex industrial facilities including a test bench, a refrigeration tower, a waste water purifier, a chemical product store and auxiliary facilities. Among the objectives set for environmental improvement in 2012-2013 was a 3% cut in electrical consumption and a 10% cut in de-scaling base waste against 2011 values.

An Environmental Management System aims to bring about and to demonstrate a responsible attitude to the environment, controlling and constantly reducing the impact that activities, products and services have on the environment.

This latest certificate serves to reaffirm ITP's commitment and consolidate the company's leading position as a driving force in environmental management issues. It thus makes a contribution to improving its surroundings while also fulfilling company policy and reaching the targets set out in the ITP Group Strategic Plan 2011-2015.
