ITP Aero and Summit Helicopters Sign Exclusive Five-Year MRO Agreement to Support PW200 Engines
July 22, 2025ITP Aero Group maintains strong CDP Climate Change rating with a ‘B’ and achieves first CDP Water Security score
CDP is recognised as the “gold standard” for corporate environmental transparency
ITP Aero Group has maintained a strong B rating in the Climate Change assessment of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a global non-profit organisation whose annual environmental disclosure and rating process is widely recognised as the “gold standard” for corporate environmental transparency. This rating, assessed in 2024, reflects the Group’s environmental performance during the 2023 fiscal year.
ITP Aero Group retains its “Management” level rating for the second consecutive year, ranking above the average for the Powered Machinery sector, which obtains a C grade overall. This result highlights the proactive approach to managing climate-related risks and opportunities, supported by a structured Net Zero Plan aimed to reduce its carbon emissions and drive future-flight technologies.
In the Climate Change categories assessed by CDP, ITP Aero Group improved its scores in its Governance mechanisms, Opportunity Identification and Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions – all of which are third-party verified. The Group also continued to demonstrate strength in emission reduction initiatives and low-carbon product development.
In addition, ITP Aero Group received its first-ever rating in the CDP Water Security assessment, achieving a C rating, corresponding to the “Awareness” level, in line with the sector average. This initial assessment provides a valuable baseline for enhancing the Group’s Water Roadmap and reinforces its commitment to sustainable water management practices.
These recognitions align with ITP Aero Group’s ESG strategy, which is focused on contributing to the development of a sustainable aeronautical industry. The Group´s Net Zero plan is aligned with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a global body that validates corporate climate goals based on the latest climate science. In 2024, SBTi validated ITP Aero´s near-term targets, which focus on the reduction of CO₂ emissions through both product innovation — such as delivering state-of-the-art aircraft engine modules and components, developing ultra-efficient gas turbines and supporting the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) — and research into alternative propulsion systems, including electric, hybrid-electric, and hydrogen. On the operational side, ITP Aero Group continues working to reduce its environmental impact by improving energy efficiency, transitioning to lower-carbon energy sources, increasing self-generation, technology transformation to reduce process-related emissions and promoting the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in its engine test beds.
Belén González, Associate Director of Sustainability at ITP Aero, commented: “We are proud to have maintained our CDP Climate Change rating and to have taken the important step of submitting our first Water Security assessment. These results reflect our ongoing commitment to sustainability and our ambition to be a key player in the decarbonisation of the aeronautical sector. They confirm we are on the right track and help us identify areas where we can make further progress in our energy transition.”
