ITP Aero is strengthening its Sustainable Procurement model by training its SME supplier network in sustainability.
ITP Aero has participated as a driving company in the third edition of the “Sustainable Suppliers” programme, led by the UN Global Compact Spain together with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment and the ICO Foundation, as part of its Sustainable Procurement model and ESG strategy. Launched in 2023, this initiative trains SME suppliers of large companies in sustainability and in integrating the SDGs and, since it began, has trained more than 5,000 companies in over 72 countries.
The third edition brought together 48 major companies — including Acciona, BBVA, Iberdrola, Repsol, Ferrovial, Endesa, Santander, CaixaBank, Indra, Sacyr, El Corte Inglés, Cellnex and ITP Aero — up from 17 in the first edition, underscoring the programme’s scale and relevance. It also records high satisfaction levels, with 91% of participating SMEs finding the training useful. The programme pursues four goals: to train supply chains in sustainability in line with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the SDGs; equip SMEs with practical tools to integrate ESG; support compliance with national, European and international regulations; and help position Spain as a benchmark for the 2030 Agenda.
In its first year of participation, ITP Aero invited more than 200 SMEs from its supply chain to join the programme as part of its Sustainable Procurement model. The training has strengthened our suppliers’ capabilities in sustainability, ESG compliance and regulatory readiness. As a result, ITP Aero advances its objective of working with its supply chain to promote a sustainable value chain, and will continue collaborating to integrate environmental, social and governance criteria across the entire network.
