Mauricio Kuri, Governor of Querétaro, has inaugurated the renovation of ITP Aero’s aeronautical engine test cell at the company’s facilities in Querétaro, Mexico. The expanded capacity of the test cell reinforces ITP Aero’s global maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities. Eva Azoulay, CEO of ITP Aero Group, and Carlos Alzola, the company’s Managing Director, highlighted ITP Aero’s role as a benchmark in the region’s aerospace sector and its contribution to boosting the local economy.
During the inauguration, ITP Aero announced the renovation of its test cell — currently the only one of its kind in Latin America — with the capacity to carry out up to 225 engine tests per year. This infrastructure allows the company to manage the entire engine testing process in-house, including engine reception, test execution, results certification, and subsequent delivery to the client.
As part of the event, the company announced a new sustainability project involving the installation of solar panels that will generate 1,400 MWh (a 23% efficiency improvement in energy consumption). Additionally, new facilities have been inaugurated to reinforce ITP Aero Mexico’s integrated industrial model, including a training room and a corporate showroom showcasing the company’s history as the first aerospace company established in Querétaro.
Eva Azoulay, CEO of ITP Aero, commented: “The expansion of our facilities in Querétaro is a highly significant milestone. We were pioneers in contributing to the development of Querétaro as an internationally recognized aeronautical hub, and the investments and growth we continue to drive here reflect our long-term commitment to the Mexican aeronautical sector — with 1,300 employees in the country — and to providing world-class services throughout the entire engine lifecycle.”
